This is a fine old very early 19th Century substantial brass mounted leather Gun Case, which bears the remains of its original tag written in the Duke of Wellingtons own hand, which mentions Apsley House, his longtime residence after purchasing it from his brother in 1817.. It measures approximately 49 x 6 x 4. The lid of the gun case is clearly embossed in black: DUKE OF WELLINGTON His
