Original British WWII Rose Top Port of London Authority Blitz “Blackout” Police Bobby Helmet British Military Maps the 505th went to theOriginal Item: One Only. The Traditional Bobby helmet was named after the creator of the British Police Force, SIR ROBERT PEEL, who became Prime Minister under Queen Victoria. This early version, known as a "Rose Top," features a blacked brass top fitting, in the shape of a rose, hence the name. This version was issued during the WWII London "Blitz", when German bombings were an almost daily occurrence. Due to this the helmet plate and rose are both
