This is an exceptionally rare example of a genuine British Mark 1 steel helmet that is dated 1938 and hand painted in a Camouflage pattern. The stamping on the underside of chinstrap bale anchor reads 1938. The liner is marked as size 6 3 4 and CS & W Ltd the date on the liner is not legible. Brodie helmets with Camouflage are exceptionally rare especially ones that predate Dunkirk as much equipment was lost and left
