2010 and 2011 are very different in character

this is an outstanding 2010 Saint-Julien

but they are delivered in a more undertone and one-dimensional manner

The 2010 Château Margaux performed far better at this horizontal than at Farr's blind tasting a few days later

Here too there is a touch of menthol to the very floral and spicy aromas of primarily dark berries that are trimmed in a hint of sandalwood. There is excellent volume and intensity to the concentrated and stony medium weight flavors that possess a really lovely sense of underlying tension, all wrapped in a balanced, dusty and mouth coating finish.
